Reading Log
Students also have a reading log located in their agenda folders. Students are expected to read for 20 minutes each night. For September, students need to complete 300 minutes on their reading log.

Friday Folders
Students will be coming home with Friday Folders starting today, 9/4. Please look over the papers in their folder and sign that you have received the information.

5th Grade Assessments
📚 Assessments & Student Growth Over the course of the year, students will be taking CFAs (Common Formative Assessments) and summative assessments. These assessments help us monitor student understanding of the 5th grade standards we are learning throughout the year. Because these assessments are based on 5th grade standards, students may not yet have mastered all of the skills being assessed. This is completely normal, especially early in the school year! Our goal is not simply to look at one score, but to watch students grow and make progress throughout the year as they learn and develop their skills. Once assessments have been properly scored and reviewed, the scores will be sent home in your child’s agenda. The assessment score will be stapled to the agenda page for that week. When you see an assessment score come home, please review it with your child and sign it so that I know you have seen it. We will continue to use these assessments to monitor progress and determine areas where students may need additional practice, support, or enrichment. We are excited to see our students continue to learn, grow, and build confidence throughout the year!
